not quite bluegrass, too funky for folk! Seattle-based five-piece acoustic ensemble playing an exciting mix of traditional and contemporary music in the bluegrass style. The band is well-known for their diverse mix of hard luck blues songs, high lonesome ballads, up-beat swing tunes, country classics and good old-fashioned, hard-driving bluegrass standards. Their repertoire also includes unique arrangements of familiar folk and gospel songs as well as a number of original compositions.

A Great way to get out and support your community volunteers and enjoy a wonderful concert featuring
Great Northern Planes
and
Garrett & Friends
. Great Northern Planes offers up bluegrass and American roots music with stunning harmony vocals and lots of humor. They'll keep your feet tappin', and your funnybone tickled. 15 year-old Garrett Doran, a senior member of Crew 18 and fantastic acoustic guitar artist, teams up with a couple of friend to bring you stellar arrangements of a wide variety of music. Also featuring Travis Nutch, formerly of South Salem High School, on cello, and 17 year-old Ellie Hakanson picking up the pace on fiddle and vocals. There will be a silent auction in the lobby of the auditorium and a raffle to raise much-needed money for equipment, supplies and vehicle maintenance for the young, all-volunteer arm of Search and Rescue sponsored by the Marion County Police Department. Good cause. Good music. Good time! See you there!

This all-girl, high-energy quartet infuses traditional string-band roots music (Scotch-Irish ballads, Celtic fiddle tunes, the blues) with new, original material influenced by music old and new. Their sound is multi-faceted and pulls from the best to incorporate it into their own special mix. Inviting, personable, dancable, and soul-satisfying, this is music from the heart for the heart, music to fill-you-up and spill out in a rich, flowing blend of delectable sound. Uncle Earl makes happy feet!

Cowboy poet and balladeer of the west, Casey hails from Montana, land of the endless sky, of the Rockey Mountains, of elk and wolves, and of real cowboys. His poetry and songs pull you into your own heritage and wrap you in the lore you love, where you can almost feel the the leather beneath you and hear the howl of the wolves.
